Tech Overview

Enterprise Quality On-Premises EHR Solution   Best in Class

Built with tedious attention to detail, our mission is to provide you with dependable software that is also user friendly and easy to use.

The AXEIUM foundation is a state-of-the-art multi-tier Microsoft Windows.Net hybrid application that stores your clinical data in your on-premises SQL server and your documents and images on your network file system.   The system is web service capable and accommodates all industry standard interface protocols with several certified interfaces built in, noteably, Surescripts, HealthVault, LabCorp, Quest, Meditech, Cerner, Dexis and Romexis.  While the system can accommodate an unlimited number of note types, AXEIUM makes extensive use of structured data - a design feature that lets you implement just about any Clinical Decision Support (CDS) trigger you can imagine, as well as maximum flexibility for reporting.

AXEIUM is the only certified healthcare system that was built, ground-up, as a patient-centric system.   Unlike, traditional fee-for-service systems that are provider-centric at their core, yet now marketed as community health software, every aspect of AXEIUM was designed by community health professionals for the community health environment.

Tech FAQs

Desktop installs are the fastest connections but require more maintenance, thus the trend at larger organizations to migrate to Terminal Server or Citrix, which can be virtual servers as well.   You might want to consider some desktop installs for super users, as well, if you are running an older version of Citrix that does not support USB pass-through and that user needs access to a USB device, e.g., a camera or a scanner.

For the best end-user experience, a desktop operating system should be 64-bit Windows 7 or 10 (but not 8), with at least 4 GB RAM.

As with most Microsoft applications, AXEIUM and Citrix play nice together.   Your Citrix server should be running dotnet framework 4.0 or greater, with at least 200 MB of RAM per concurrent standard user, with more for power users.

Microsoft Terminal Server is another great way to provide access for both local and remote users and locations, and Hypervisor virtualization is fully supported.

Remote users can also connect via VPN, but given the relatively heavy weight of the rich-client environment, VPN is the slowest of your remote connection options.

AXEIUM has been tested and certified on SQL server through version 2012 r2.   While SQL 2008 is still supported, all new installs should be SQL 2012 or greater.

For the curious, AXEIUM's front end is written primarily in Visual Basic .NET with heavy reliance on Infragistics winform controls.

Some functions in AXEIUM make use of the Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel.   For example, some form templates call Word, and all grids can be exported to Excel.   It is expected that all workstations will have Office 2007 or newer.

Regardless of client type, to maximize productivity, most users should have at least 2 monitors, both of which should be widescreen format with a minimal size of 23" and a resolution of 1650x1050 or greater,
